House of New Beginning

Founded in 1995 and located at 1000 West Main Street in Dothan, New Beginning Ministries International is a faith-based, service-oriented 501(c)(3) organization. Operating under the philosophy, "Find your purpose, and you find your life," the ministry works actively to meet the critical spiritual and physical needs of the local community.

  • Purpose: The core purpose of the ministry and its transitional housing initiative is to act as a bridge for individuals facing severe life hardships—specifically homelessness, substance abuse, hunger, and the challenges of re-entering society. Through The House of New Beginnings, the ministry provides a structured, safe, and nurturing environment where individuals can stabilize their lives, escape cycles of crisis, and find immediate relief and security.

  • Goal: The program's ultimate goal is holistic transformation, self-sufficiency, and long-term resilience. The ministry aims to equip residents to walk confidently into their next chapter by providing practical, life-changing support, including Job Readiness & Placement, which offers hands-on tasks, job training, and mentorship to promote sustained employment. Life Skills Education: Providing practical counseling, goal-setting, and accountability structures. Community Integration: Assisting with stable transition plans so individuals can live independent, productive lives.

The Ministry Strategy. Rooted deeply in Christian theology, the program goes beyond temporary shelter by emphasizing spiritual restoration and care. In addition to housing, community meals, and recovery support, they offer consistent mentorship and pastoral guidance, working to heal the whole person—"one heart at a time."
